ROY D. TURNBAUGH
Roy D. Turnbaugh, 83, of 620 Payson Ave died at 1:55 a.m. Monday (April 2, 2012) in his home.
Born May 21, 1928 in Summer Hill, IL, Roy was the son of Tone & Gertrude Baxter Turnbaugh. He married Vicki Lynn Stice on March 18, 1962 in Quincy. She preceded him in death on October 31, 2007.
Roy served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1953. He worked for Speedrack (Litteral Mfg.) for 33 years and then for National Metals until his retirement in 1993. He enjoyed fishing, being with family and fixing anything that had a motor.
Survivors include by his four sons, Steve Turnbaugh (Jill), Greg Turnbaugh (Renee) both of Quincy, Tony Turnbaugh (Brenda) of Fowler and Roger Turnbaugh (Linda) of Griggsville, IL; five grandchildren Stephanie Turnbaugh, Tyler Turnbaugh, Paris Turnbaugh all of Quincy, Michelle Turnbaugh and Dena Turnbaugh both of Pittsfield, IL; six great grandchildren; Also survivng is one brother Robert Turnbaugh, and a brother-in-law James Evans both of Quincy.
Mr. Turnbaugh was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers Ray Turnbaugh and James "Skeeter" Turnbaugh and a sister Violet Evans.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. in Greenmount Cemetery with Rev. George Tomko officiating.
There is no visitation but friends are invited to attend the Graveside services.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
