    Bertha F. Eberle, age 98 of Quincy, passed away at 4:50 am Monday (December 11, 2017) in Blessing Hospital.

    Born March 27, 1919  in La Belle, Missouri, Bertha was the daughter of Rodney and Wava Mullinex Johnson. She married Wilbert W. Eberle on October 5, 1940 in Palmyra, Missouri. He preceded her in death on March 23, 1980.

   Bertha was employed at the International Shoe Factory in Quincy and later at Motorola in the assembly Department. She loved bird watching, especially cardinal birds. She also enjoyed sewing, playing cards, flower gardening and volunteering at R.S.V.P. and other volunteer organizations.

   Survivors include three daughters, Carol Hanlin, Connie Shaffer (Fred) and Bonnie Peters,  all of Quincy; a son Ronald Eberle of  Ursa, IL; Four brothers, Dean Taylor of Phoenix, AZ, Sterling Johnson (Dorothy) of Quincy, Don Berrey (Dorothy) of Warrenton, MO and Lester West (Kathy) of Quincy; Tina Marie Robertson of Quincy, Tony Allen Eberle (Melissa) of Ursa, IL, Teri Rae McElroy of Quincy, Jerry W. Hanlin Jr. of Quincy, Tracy A. Hanlin (Tiffani) of Plainville, IL, Theresa Owens (Bill) of Quincy, Tammy Burton (Dominic) of Quincy, Shelly Waterman Klingele (Gary) of Liberty. Also surviving are sixteen great great grandchildren.
    Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wilbert, three sisters, Pearle Jarvis Powell, Lorene Shipley and Opal Huntley and two brothers, John B. "J.B." Johnson and Emmett Johnson.
    Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Reverend Rex Jarvis and Pastor Steve Hayden officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

   Visitation will be Thursday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 at the Funeral Home.

   Memorials may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.

    Arrangements are in the care of the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.

So sorry for your lost. She was a special lady. Loved it when her and Aunt Kathleen, plus family, would get together to play cards.

Ron & Sharon, sorry to hear of your loss. Would have made the visitation, but am getting over a terrible cold. The Friends of the Log Cabins Board send their condolenses.
