ELIZABETH M. CALLIHAN

   Mrs. Elizabeth Mae Callihan, 83, of Quincy, formerly of Pittsfield, Illinois, died at 8:40 a.m. Sunday (February 12, 2012) in Blessing Hospital.

   Born April 22, 1928 in Plymouth, Illinois, Liz was the daughter of Fred and Eva Thurman Campbell. She married Michael M. Callihan on December 2, 1944 in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death on January 20, 2004.

   An accomplished artist, Liz loved painting with watercolors and oils. She enjoyed arts and crafts and flower gardening and will be remembered by her family for her sewing, making many articles of clothing for her children and grandchildren. Liz loved all animals, especially her pet cats, Ike and Izzy.

   Liz devoted her life to raising her family.

   Survivors include two sons; Tony Callihan of Quincy and Michael Callihan Jr. (Bonnie) of St. Peters, MO; eight grandchildren, Lori Bradshaw (Nate) and Heather Callihan both of Griggsville, IL;  Angie Taylor of Pittsfield, IL, Greg Callihan (Donna), Pat Callihan (Pam) and Marnie Hager (Joe) all of O'Fallon, MO, Gina Welch (Bill) of St. Peters, MO, Mike Callihan III (Shawnean) of Brentwood, MO; sixteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a brother, Bruce Campbell (Della) of Keokuk, IA; a sister, Ruth Satterfield of Springfield, IL; and many loving nieces and nephews.

   Mrs. Callihan was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mike; two sons, Terry Callihan and Pat Callihan; a brother, Wayne Campbell; and a sister, Esther Moore.

   Memorial services will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Henry Pratt.  Inurnment will be in Rosemont Cemetery in Plymouth, IL.

   Visitation will be Thursday morning from 9:00 until the time of the memorial service at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to the Quincy Humane Society in care of Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home, 1435 State Street, Quincy, IL 62301
