DOROTHY  F.  FRAZIER

    Mrs. Dorothy F. Frazier, 75, of the Sycamore Healthcare Centre in Quincy, formerly of Mendon, Illinois, died at 12:20 am Friday (March 23, 2012) in the Sycamore Health Care Centre.

   Born January 15, 1937 in Quincy, Dorothy was the daughter of Gerald and Dorothy Finlay Sr.. Following the death of her mother, Dorothy was raised by her father and step mother, Gerald and Grace Clark Finlay.

   Dorothy grew up a member of the Mendon Congregational Church where she sang in the choir for many years.  An avid Bridge player, she also enjoyed camping and will be remembered by her family for the many things she baked for them.  Dorothy also loved helping others and was a Foster Parent for many years.

   Valedictorian of Unity High School in 1955 and her 1959 class at Culver Stockton College, Dorothy taught Elementary School in Taylorville, Illinois for many years, retiring in 1974.

   Survivors include two sons, Stephen Frazier (Liz) of Littleton, CO and David Frazier of Colleyville, TX; a daughter, Susan Goderstad (Todd) of Eden Prairie, MN; seven grandchildren, Lindy Waskosky (Mike), Erik Goderstad, Allison Ashley (Allen), Erin Frazier, Matthew Frazier, Laura Frazier and Elizabeth Frazier; four great grandchildren, Tristen Waskosky, Elisha Waskosky, Jeremiah Waskosky and Levi Ashley; a brother, Paul Finlay (Ethel) of Quincy; and many loving nieces and nephews.

   Mrs. Frazier was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Amanda Goderstad; a brother, Gerald Finlay Jr.; and a sister, Ruth Katherine Carwile.

   Memorial services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Pastor Linda Hunsaker.  Inurnment will be in the Mendon Cemetery.

   Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 and Tuesday morning from 10:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to Culver Stockton College.
