   William Leigh Gosney, 88, of Quincy died at 6:35 p.m. Thursday (August 22, 2013) in Sunset Home.

   Born July 6, 1925 in Maywood, Missouri, he was the son of John William and Anna Marie Gnuse Gosney. He married Gwendolyn Mueller on August 7, 1948 in LaGrange, Missouri. She preceded him in death on April 25, 2013.

   Leigh was a graduate of Durham High School and was over a fifty year  member of Union United Methodist Church. He served as a Sunday School Superintendent, treasurer and  helped to compile the church newsletter. He enjoyed gardening and going to the family farm in Maywood, MO where he loved spending time with his family. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and enjoyed listening to their ballgames. Leigh was also a multi-gallon blood donor for the Adams County Red Cross.

   Mr. Gosney retired as a supervisor at Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company in 1990 after 42 years of service.

   Survivors include his daughter, Brenda Wojcik and her husband Gary of Maple Glen, PA; two grandchildren, Laura Wojcik and William Wojcik both of Maple Glen, PA; five brothers, Paul Gosney of Quincy, Lawrence Gosney of Livingston, TX, Gerald Gosney of Maywood, MO, Oren Gosney of Durham, MO and L.Ray Gosney and his wife Lily of Maywood, MO. Also surviving are several loving nieces and nephews.

   Leigh was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gwen; four sisters-in-law, Lucille Gosney, Ruth Gosney, Irene Gosney and Faye Gosney.

   Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday August 31, 2013 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Woodard officiating. Burial will be in the Durham Cemetery, Durham, MO.

   Visitation will be held Friday evening August 30, 2013 from 5:00 until 7:00 at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to Union United Methodist Church or to Sunset Home.
