LINDA L. BLEVINS

   Linda L. Blevins, 77, of Quincy died at 7:00 a.m. Sunday (March 16, 2014) in her home, surrounded by her loving family.

   Born February 2, 1937 in Quincy, Linda was the daughter of Richard and Catherine Drew Wade.  She married Robert "Bob" Blevins on April 29, 1956 in Griggsville.  He survives.

   Linda was a member of St. John's Anglican Parish and dearly loved her church.  She was a wonderful wife and devoted mother to her family.  Linda especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and never missed a sporting event or school activity.  She especially enjoyed the holidays with family traveling and watching movies.

   Linda graduated from Griggsville High School in 1955 and she was class Salutatorian. was employed as a CNA at the Illinois Veteran's Home for 30 years retiring in 1999.  She then was a crossing guard at Ellington School for several years.

   Survivors include her husband Bob; three sons Robert M. Blevins, Richard M. Blevins and Raymond "Matt" Blevins (Tara) all of Quincy; one daughter Tracie Pepper (Tom) of Quincy; 10 grandchildren Brant Blevins (Megan), Lacee Blevins, Bruce Blevins, Ryan Blevins, Patience Blevins (Geoff), Mary Blevins, Lindsey Parson (Levi), Kylie Cole, Shelby Miller (Eric) and Angie Peters (Andy); and 11 great grandchildren and several loving nieces and nephews.

   Mrs. Blevins was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Richard and Daniel Wade and one sister Nancy Bergman.

   Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon 12:30 in the St. John's Anglican Parish with the Rev. Patrick Smith officiating.  Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park.

  Visitation will be held Thursday morning from 10:00 until 12:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.

   She asked that memorials may be made to the St. John's Anglican Parish.

   The family would like to extend a special thanks and gratitude to Unity Point Hospice.
