   Mildred  R. "Millie" Allen, 82, of Quincy, died at 5:00 p.m. Saturday (July 26, 2014) in her home.

   Born October 3, 1931 in Marion County, Missouri,  Millie was the daughter of  William Franklyn and Rose May Bauernfiend Bailey. She married Gilbert "Gib" Allen on August 22, 1953 in Quincy. He survives.

   Millie was a member of Central Baptist Church where she played piano and was active with the Loyal Workers Sunday School Class and the Chuppers Group. She was a founding member of the Northeast Missouri Genealogical Society and was a member and Past President of the Salvation Army Ladies Auxiliary. An avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, Millie also enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting and gardening, and will be fondly remembered for her skills at baking cookies.

   A graduate of Palmyra High School where she played trombone in the Marching Band, Millie was employed in the offices at International Shoe Factory and Quincy Paper Box.  Following her marriage, Millie devoted her life to raising and caring for her family.

   Survivors include her husband, Gib; a daughter, Becky Albert (Jim) of Quincy; three sons, Michael Allen (Joy) of Florissant, MO, Bob Allen (Lisa) of Warsaw  and John Allen of Quincy; fifteen grandchildren, Mike Turner (Stacey), Kristi Sloan (Scott), Keely Shaffer (Doug), Matt Albert, Cody Allen (Julie), Jeremiah Allen (Melissa), Jazmine Allen, Corrina Holleran (Kyle), Caitlin Allen, Jason Allen (Melanie), Tim Allen, Stefanie Allen, Travis Allen, Walker Allen and Easton Allen; fourteen great grandchildren, C.J., Molly, Sean, Taylor, Andrew, Brandy, Brooke, Jake, Grayson, Josephine, Hannah, Henry, Jackson and Addalyn; three great great grandchildren, Dylan, Killian and Bentley; a sister, Mary Anastas of Quincy; and many loving nieces and nephews.

   Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Joseph "Joe" Allen; a daughter in law, Vicky Allen; and a sister, Margaret Anastas.

   Funeral  services will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 in Central Baptist Church by the Rev. Ivan Greuter.  Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

   Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home and Thursday from 10:00 until the time of services at Central Baptist Church.

    Memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church.
