DALE  GRAFTON

   Mr. Dale Grafton, 81,of rural Hull, Illinois, died at 8:23 a.m. Thursday (September 18, 2014) in his home.

   Born December 21, 1932 in Rushville, Illinois, Dale was the son of Bert and Nora Totsch Grafton. He married Norma McElfresh on September 6, 1957 in Hannibal, Missouri. She survives.

   Mr. Grafton was of the Christian Faith.  He served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.

   Dale was a Die Hard Cubs Fan. He was a collector of many things, including,  toy cars, trains and hats. He loved tinkering around working on lawn mowers and volkswagons and was an accomplished whittler, making wooden spoons and wind chimes for family and friends.

   Dale was employed for many years at Electric Wheel in Quincy until his retirement.

    Survivors include his wife, Norma; three children, Rose Goudschaal (Kevin) of Carthage, IL, James Grafton (Cheryl) of Quincy and Sandy Fry (Kerry) of Versailles, IL; eight grandchildren, James D. Grafton (LeeAnn), Aaron Coffman (Jessica), Kasey Coffman, Joshua Goudschaal (Susan), James C. Grafton, Sarah Grafton, Samantha Kahs and Anakin Bauer; five great grandchildren, Sullivan Preston, Gabriel Preston, Skylor Goudschaal, Taylor Goudschaal and Evangeline Grafton; and many loving nieces and nephews.

   Mr. Grafton was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Warren, Bert Jr., Cecil, Lewis and Bob Grafton; and a sister, Dorothy Edwards.

   Graveside services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:15 in the Payson New Cemetery.  Military Honors will be conducted by the Payson V. F. W. Post 2061 and the Illinois National Guard Funeral Detail.

   Visitation will be Saturday afternoon from 1:00 until 2:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Payson.

   Memorials may be made to the Quincy Salvation Army or Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
