   Wilma Burke, 86, of the Good Samaritan Home, Quincy, died at 6:42 p.m. Wednesday (January 7, 2015) in the Good Samaritan Home.

   Born January 17, 1928 in Quincy, Wilma was the daughter of Albert Henry and Hilda M. Arends Boehl.  She married Lemuel L. "Lem" Burke on October 27, 1950 in Richmond, Kentucky. He preceded her in death on March 17, 1993.

   Wilma had been an active member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ where she was a member of the Evening Guild, sang in the choir and taught Sunday School for many years.  She was also a 69 year member of Alpha Chapter 109  Order of Eastern Star, a volunteer at Blessing Hospital and with R.S.V.P., and was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader for many years.  Wilma enjoyed puzzles, playing Dominos, and spending time with her family and friends.  She loved traveling the country with her husband and especially enjoyed wintering in Florida for many years.

   Wilma was employed at Moorman Manufacturing until becoming a unit secretary at St. Mary Hospital for over 30 years until her retirement.

   Survivors include her daughter, Sarah Stewart (Richard) of Quincy; three nephews, Alan Rabe (Linda) of Quincy, Charles Rabe (Karen) of Payson, IL and Ken Crim (Sandi) of Hull, IL; and many loving great nieces and great nephews.

   Mrs. Burke was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lem; a grandson, Jason Stewart; and two sisters, Dorothy Rabe and Alberta Crim.

   A celebration of Wilma's life will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 at The Crossing 929 Monroe by Pastor Alan Rabe. Burial will be Greenmount Cemetery.

   The family will meet with friends Saturday morning from 10:00 until the time of services at The Crossing, 929 Monroe.

   The Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

   Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Home or St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital.
