    William E. "Billy" Coonrod Jr., 17, of Plainville, Illinois, died at 9:50 a.m. Saturday (August 8, 2015) at his home in Plainville.

   Born December 2, 1997 in Quincy, Billy was the son of William E. Coonrod Sr. and Betty Churchman Coonrod.

   Billy previously attended Plainville Baptist Church and more recently The Crossing at 48th & Maine in Quincy.  He was entering his Senior year at Payson Seymour High School where he was a member of National Honor Society.  Billy was known for his academic achievements and technical prowess. He competed in the state competition of WYSE, winning the area regional and sectional events.  Billy was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling, especially vacationing with his family.

   Survivors include his father and step mother, William E. and Jennifer Coonrod Sr of Plainville; his mother, Betty Coonrod of Quincy; his brothers, Sean Schmidt-Beatty, Tyler Streeter, Jacob Coonrod and Samuel Coonrod; his sisters, Abigail Coonrod and Grace Coonrod; his paternal grandparents, Janet Coonrod (Mike Knapp) of Roodhouse, IL; his maternal grandparents, Terry and Carol Churchman of Hardin, IL; his step grandmother, Sandy Beatty of Camp Point, IL; his uncles, Terry Churchman Jr of Hardin, IL, Scott Coonrod (Sheila) of Springfield, IL, Chris Coonrod (Ellie) of Greenfield, IL and Mike Beatty (Jen) of Camp Point, IL; his aunt, Karen Epley (Randy) of Plainville, IL; and many loving cousins.

   Billy was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Gary Coonrod.

   Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:30 in the Plainville Baptist Church by Pastor Chris Lefever.  Private family graveside services will be held at a later date.

   Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Wednesday morning until the time of services at the  church.

   Memorials may be made to the Payson High School Technical Department.
