    Harold Eugene Brassfield, 82, of Quincy, died at 6:45 p.m. Friday (April 7, 2017) in North Adams Home in Mendon, Illinois.

   Born March 10, 1935 in Quincy, Harold was the son of Thomas L. and Maude E. Wittner Brassfield.  He married Janice M. Stockhecke on June 5,1954 in Quincy.  She survives.

   Mr. Brassfield served his country in theUnited States Marine Corps during the Korean War.

   Harold was employed at Comstock Castle Stove Company in Quincy for 24 years until his retirement.

   Harold was a life member of North Side Boat Club and an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.  Harold loved music and playing the drums. He played for many local bands over the years, most recently with the band, Ridge Runners.

   Survivors include his wife 62 years, Janice; two sons, Steven L. Brassfield (Joy) of Quincy and Jeffrey A. Brassfield of Quincy;  a daughter, Debra J. Brassfield of Quincy; four grandchildren, Jody K. Brassfield, Shane T. Brassfield, Valerie S. Spillman and Heather L. Brassfield all of Quincy; six great grandchildren, Blake T. Brassfield, Joseph D. Ohnemus, Noah J. Ohnemus,       Jeweleigha F. Rossmiller, Camren M. Raymond and Kailyn A. Raymond; two sisters, Linda Eberle of Quincy and Rhonda Crouch of  North Carolina; a brother, Robert "Bob" Brassfield (Carol) of California; and many loving nieces and nephews.

   Mr.Brassfield was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Albert Brassfield, William Brassfield and Ronald Brassfield.

   Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Pastor Martin Eden officiating.  Burial with Military Honors by the United States Marine Corps Funeral Honors Detail will be in Quincy Memorial Park.

   Visitation will be Monday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Tuesday morning from 10:30 until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to charity of the donor's choice.
