DELORES (ANDERS) MAYFIELD

    Delores Mayfield, 72, of Hull, Illinois, passed away at 9:43 am Thursday (October 26, 2017) in her home.

    Born March 7, 1945 in Quincy, Delores was the daughter of Harry Roy and Evelena Goodwin Anders. She married Larry D. Mayfield on May 8, 1965 in Quincy. He preceded her in death on July 12, 2001.

     Delores enjoyed dancing, going to the casino with her cousin Janie , listening to music, singing karaoke and being with her family, especially with her grandchildren.

      Delores and her husband Larry drove  trucks together for several years and later was employed at the Quincy Herald Whig in the Circulation Department for 16 years until her retirement.

     Survivors include a daughter Novilee "Dion" Hilgenbrinck (Brian Davis) of Camp Point, IL; four sons, John Renier (Melissa) of Hull, IL, Brad Renier (Donna) of Quincy, Patrick Roy Mayfield ( Misty) of Chandler, OK and Wesley Dean Mayfield (Brandy) of Hull, IL; two sisters Mary Cambell of Quincy and Maxine Kirkpatrick (Kenny) of Quincy; three brothers, Tim Anders (Sue) of Quincy, Tony Anders (Debbie) of Hull, IL, and Bobby Anders of Quincy.  Also surviving are several grandchildren, great grandchildren, step grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.

      Delores was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Larry, her granddaughter Kirstin Renier, a brother Ernest Anders and her sister Ruth Jane Anders.

      Funeral services will be held Sunday morning at 11:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy with Pastor Bruce Rice officiating. Burial will be in Burton Cemetery.

      Visitation will be Saturday afternoon from 1:00 until 3:00 at the funeral home.

      Memorials may be made to Unity Point Hospice or the Blessing Cancer Center.
