RAPHAEL "RAY" EDWARD PADAVIC

    Raphael "Ray" Padavic, age 68 of Quincy, passed away at 10:45 am Thursday (December 14, 2017) in Blessing Hospital.

    Born February 20, 1949 in Quincy, Ray was the son of  John A. and Florence VanArx Padavic. He was first married to Linda Chandler. He later married Tommy C. Spratt on June 27, 1987 in Ewing, Missouri. She survives.

    Ray was a 1967 graduate of Christian Brothers High School. Ray was well known for tinkering in his garage on anything that had a motor, especially motorcycles, lawn mowers and old cars. Ray rode thirteen different motorcycles until his health failed. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing, vintage cars and going to numerous car shows. He also liked driving old cars including a 1984 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Supersport and a 2015 Chevy Camaro. He especially enjoyed being a Ham Radio Operator and belonged to various Ham radio clubs. His call letters were KB9HLE. He especilly loved spending time with his family.

    Ray was employed as a welder at Knapheide Manufacturing for over 15 years retiring in 1989.
     Survivors include his wife Tommy, his daughter Stacy Boll (Ryan) of Quincy; three grandchildren, Blaine Biggers, Shelby Boll and Andrew Boll all of Quincy; and a great grandson Dylan Boll of Quincy. Also surviving are two brothers, Vic and Joe Padavic both of Quincy;his sister Patty Barnwell of Quincy and many loving nieces and nephews.

     Ray was preceded in death by his parents, three bothers, John, William and Phillip Padavic and his brother-in-Law Bruce Barnwell.

     Funeral Services will be held Monday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Reverend Elmer Hagood officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

     Visitation will be held Monday morning from 9:00 until the time of services  at 11:00 o'clock at the Funeral Home.

      Memorials may be made to the Shriners Childrens Hospital.

     Arrangements are in the care of the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.
