ROBERT  E.  LEAKE

   Robert E. Leake, 82, formerly of Paloma, Illinois, passed away at 4:15 a.m. Monday (December 18, 2017) at the Illinois Veteran's Home in Quincy.

   Born August 28, 1935 in Quincy, Robert was the son of Artie and Caroline Mette Leake. Robert shared the last 33 years with his soul mate, Judith Greene of Paloma.

   Mr. Leake served his country in the U. S. Army from 1955 to 1958.

   Robert was a member of the Ameritech Pioneers Club and a former member of the Quincy American Legion Post 37 . He enjoyed going to auctions and collecting antiques and military memorabilia.

   Robert was a self employed mechanic for many years. He later was a mechanic for Illinois Bell Telephone which became Ameritech, retiring after more than 20 years with the company.

   Survivors include his children, Robert W. Leake (Wilma) of Heyworth, IL, Larry Leake (Sunday) of Dix, IL, Jay Leake (Kelly) of Costa Rica, Lorie Atteberry (Mike) of Eolia, MO and Deborah Hinds (Jordan) of Center, MO; a son in law, Mike Phillips of Bowen, IL; his companion and soul mate, Judith Greene and her children, Cobi Reeves (Cammie), Tony Bliss (Bridget), Brennan Greene (Ronda) and Ronna Schwengel (Dean); and many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.

   Robert was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kim Phillips; and a granddaughter, Jessica Strothoff.

   Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:00 in the All Faiths Chapel at the Illinois Veteran's Home with Chaplain Dave Hall officiating.  Burial with Military Honors will be in Sunset Cemetery.

   Visitation will be Thursday morning from 9:00 until the time of services at All Faiths Chapel.

   Arrangements are in the care of Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy.

   Memorials may be made to the Quincy Humane  Society.
