BILL ROLAND
Mr. William "Bill" Roland, 73,of 5622 South 36th, Quincy, died at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday (April 10, 2012) in his home.
Born December 1, 1938 in Quincy, Bill was the son of James D. and Harriet E. Hardy Roland. He married Renee S. Hoskins on May 2, 1987 in Quincy. She survives.
Bill enjoyed working outdoors in his yard, gardening, dancing, talking about muscle cars and hanging out with his friends.
A 1957 graduate of Quincy High School, Bill worked constuction as a member of Union Local 919 in the Tri State area for many years. He retired in 2001.
Survivors include his wife Renee; a son, Randy Hoskins Jr. (Donna) of Quincy; two daughters, Kathy Roland of Quincy and Linda Schulte (Robert) of Winfield, MO; three grandchildren, Kyle Altgilbers, Breanna Altgilbers and Paige Altgilbers all of Quincy; a brother, Benjamin Roland (Carol) of Quincy; a sister, Joan Meyer of Phoenix, AZ; a cousin, Paul Hardy of the state of Washington; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Mr. Roland was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held Wednesday afternoon from 12:30 until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Blessing Cancer Center.
