V. JEANETTE  "JEANNIE" BARTZ

   Mrs. V. Jeanette Bartz, 69, of Quincy, died at 11:00 am Sunday (December 18, 2011) in Blessing Hospital.

   Born October 23, 1942 in Quincy, Jeanette was the daughter of Walter and Mabel Leach Christ.  She married Charles J. Bartz on July 11, 1959 in Quincy. He preceded her in death on January 25, 2009.

   Jeannie was a member of the Eagles Club.  She enjoyed playing bingo, cards, flower gardening and going to the casino.  She was an avid Nascar fan and enjoyed going to the car races at Quincy Raceways.

   She had worked as a secretary for The Ninth Street Muffler Shop which she and her husband owned and operated.  She was also a CNA for various nursing homes in Quincy and later in the Housekeeping Department at Mark Twain Casino.

   Survivors include four sons, Jeff Bartz and his wife Doris of Camp Point, Bruce Bartz of Rock Hills, S.C., Kelly Bartz and Chris Bartz both of Quincy; four grandchildren, Wally Bartz and his wife Renee of Camp Point, IL, Justin Bartz, Joe Bartz and Jacob Sprinkle all of Quincy; three great grandchildren, Caleb Bartz of Quincy, Riley Bartz and Charlie Bartz both of Camp Point; also surviving are three brothers Donald Christ and his wife Jackie, Terry Christ and his wife Diana, Raymond Christ and his wife Mary all of Quincy; three sisters Judy Slater and her husband Darrell of Marcelline, IL, Helen Wells and Zelda Smith and her husband Ted both of Quincy.

   Mrs. Bartz was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Danny Bartz and one brother William Christ.

   Graveside services will be held Thursday morning at 10:30 am in Greenmount Cemetery with Rev. Tom Raines officiating.

   There is no visitation but friends are invited to attend the Graveside services.

   Memorials may be made to the Jeanette V. Bartz Memorial Fund.
