JANE DAVIS

   Mrs. Jane C. Wheeler Davis, 89, of Bloomfield, Iowa,  a former resident of Quincy, Illinois, died Tuesday (December 20, 2011) at the Bloomfield Care Center in Bloomfield.

   Born February 6, 1922 in Dallas City, Illinois, Jane was the daughter of Leo and Emma Steffey Clow.  She married Virgil R. Wheeler on August 2, 1942 in LaGrange, Missouri.  To this union three children were born, Penny, Virgil Jr., and Lu Ann.  She later married Orin L. Davis on July 20, 1978 in Garland County, Arkansas and moved to Salem, Missouri where she and Orin lived on a small acreage until the time of his death.  She returned to Quincy in 2002 and then moved to Bloomfield, Iowa in 2009.

   Jane attended Quincy Public Schools and previously worked in the Raymond Schmitt Home, J.C. Penney Department Store and F.W. Woolworth Company in Quincy.  She retired from Blessing Hospital where she worked as a certified nurse*s aide in the Rehabilitation Unit.
  
    While living in Quincy, Jane was a member of Union United Methodist Church and was also a member of the First Christian Church while living in Salem. Jane loved spending time with her family, especially fishing with her children and grandchildren.

   Survivors include two daughters, Penny (Mark) Warren of Bloomfield, Iowa and Lu Ann (Mike) Bumgarner of New Haven, Missouri; nine grandchildren, David (Stacey) Warren of Laredo, Texas, Andrew (Ann) Warren of West Des Moines, Iowa, James (Lisa) Warren of Bloomfield, Iowa, John (Sarah) Warren of Big Lake, Minnesota, Holly (Joe) Doellman of Quincy, Rich (Amy) Wheeler of Burlington, Iowa, Jason Bumgarner of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Sarah Bumgarner of Waterloo, Iowa, Lincoln Bumgarner of New Haven, Missouri; seventeen great grandchildren; two sisters, Elda Setters of Colmesneil, Texas and Billie Altheide of Quincy; a brother, Pat Clow of Quincy; and many loving nieces and nephews.

   Jane was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a son, Virgil R. Wheeler Jr.; three brothers, Edward, Frederick and Emery "Jack" Clow; and a sister, Mary Beth Van Blair.

   Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Pastor Steve Disseler.  Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

   Visitation will be Friday morning from 9:30 until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to Bloomfield Care Center Activity Fund.
