PATRICK  M. "MIKE"  KEANE
  
   Mr. Patrick Michael "Mike" Keane, 60, of Quincy, died at 7:20 a.m. Thursday (December 22, 2011) in Blessing Hospital.

   Born March 18, 1951 in Quincy, Mike was the son of Patrick H. and Mary L. Winking Keane. He married Christine L. "Chris" Berblinger on May 21, 1988 in Quincy. She survives.

   Mike was a graduate of Quincy High School and received his Bachelors Degree in Human Services in 2004 from Quincy University. An avid animal lover, Mike also enjoyed reading and writing, being a member of the Academy of American Poets and Quincy Writer's Guild and having his book of poetry "Robot Farm" published. Mike enjoyed sports and was a fan of the Chicago White Sox and a friend of Bill W.

   Mike was currently employed as a clerk with the Quincy Post Office where he has worked for 36 years and was a member of the American Postal Workers Union.

   Survivors include his wife, Chris; his mother, Mary Keane of Quincy; two sons, Pete Keane (Laura) of Quincy and Jesse Keane (Emily) of Portland, OR; two daughters, Beth Shade (Jeff) of Jacksonville, IL and Katie Douglas (Kevin) of Quincy; eight grandchildren; a sister, Kathleen Huner (Gerald) of Quincy; his mother in law, Jean Berblinger of Quincy; two sisters in law, Barb Bowen (Mike) of  Quincy and Ruth Gottman of Quincy; and three nieces and nephews.

   Mr. Keane was preceded in death by his father, Patrick; his father in law, Bob Berblinger; and maternal grandparents, Robert and Marie Winking.

   The family will meet with friends at a memorial visitation on Thursday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 at  the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.

   Memorials may be made to the Quincy Animal Shelter.
