Mrs. Vicki Elaine "Queenie" Cole, 61, of  Sunset Home in Quincy, went to be with the Lord on Sunday (January 8, 2012) at 11:05 a.m. with her loving family members and devoted, loving husband Bill Cole by her side.

Born April 4, 1950 in Quincy, Illinois, Vicki was the daughter of James Dixon and Ina Margaret Hartsock Nutt. She married William Allen "Bill" Cole on May 3, 1971 in Bloomington, Illinois. He survives.

Vicki enjoyed painting, video games, especially Ms Pac Man, and raising sheep and caring for the orphan sheep at lambing time.

Mrs. Cole spent her professional life as an electronics manufacturer working at Motorola Corporation, Four Phase Systems and DeAnza Systems in the Bay area of California. At the end of her career, she spent time as a stay at home mom who enjoyed cooking, sewing and raising her children.

Survivors include her husband, Bill; four children, Melissa Marie Taylor (Donald) of Monterey, CA, Chevi Rachelle Amrein (Todd) of Susanville, CA, William Allen "Billy" Cole of Quincy and Tara Schayne Cole of Quincy; eight grandchildren, Noah, Natasha, Donny, Aja, Kylie, Clover, Cymon and Brielle; one great grandchild, Weslie; six brothers Robert "Bobby" Nutt (Phyllis), Gary Nutt (Lilly), Mickey Nutt, Ronald "Ronnie" Nutt, Dennis Nutt (Jeri) and Randy Nutt; four sisters, Roberta Guthrie, Jayma Arnold (Bill), Karen Hunolt (Dick) and Cindy "Lou-Lou" Willingham (Milton); and an extended family of nieces, nephews and close friends who she loved dearly.

Mrs. Cole was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Kerry Nutt and Donald Nutt; and a sister, Marcia Ann Nutt.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:00 at The Crossing 929, 929 Monroe, Quincy, by Pastor Jim Dennis.  Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park.

Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4:00 to 7:00  and Friday morning from 9:00 until the time of services at The Crossing 929.

Memorials may be made to the Vicki E. Cole Legacy Fund, which benefits the Haven at the Sunset Home in Quincy, Illinois. The Haven provided the most dignified, diligent and professional care for our loving mother as she completed the final stages of her life while enduring Alzheimers.

When you all remember Vicki, smile and know that she livied her life to the fullest. When Vicki laughed, she laughed out loud, she embraced the moments and she loved deeply.

So very sorry for your loss. Vicki & my Mom, Marilyn Harris, were roommates at Sunset, Mom passed away Oct. 30th of this year. We also have another connection, my husband's Grandmother was Nellie Brinkman and Ina was a helper in my Head Start Class back in the 60's at Berrian School. God Bless all of you! Bob & Susan Glover
