   William John "Bill" McHugh, 88, of the  Illinois Veterans Home  died at 12:50 pm Tuesday (February 28, 2012) in the home.

   Born November 23, 1923 in Chicago, IL.  Bill was the son of William John and Margaret Saur McHugh.  He married Esther Weber on August 2, 1958 in Chicago.  She preceded him in death on June 5, 1992.

   Mr. McHugh served his country in the Army during World War II as a photographic lab technician.  Bill enjoyed reading, writing and gardening.

   Bill owned McHugh Tool and Engineering Company in Chicago and also did sales and editorial writing for engineering and science magazines until his retirement in 1989.

   Survivors include one daughter, Kendra Rackauskas and her husband Ed of Naperville, IL; four grandchildren Michael, Lauren, Rachel and Alex.

   Mr. McHugh was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

   Graveside services will be held Monday morning at 10:00 in Sunset Cemetery at the Illinois Veterans Home with full military honors.
   Arrangements are with the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.

The Bassos are very sorry that you have lost a Dad and a Grandpa. We know he meant alot to you. You took such good care of him as he was aging. You are an example for us with our aging parents. I''''m sure he is resting in peace with the clearest vision ever. We love you guys. Indre and Tom
