   Calvin W. Stinnett Sr., 80, of Quincy died at 6:05 am Thursday (March 1, 2012) in Country View Health Care Center in Macomb, Illinois.

   Born February 9, 1932 in Quincy, Calvin was the son of Perry L. and Hilda Woermann Stinnett Sr.  He married Shirley Ann Bange on March 17, 1950 in Quincy.  She survives.

   Calvin was a member of St. James Lutheran Church.  He enjoyed fishing, traveling and especially loved to go camping.

   Mr. Stinnett was employed at the Quincy Herald Whig as General Press Foreman for 42 years until his retirement in 1993.

   Survivors include his wife, Shirley; two daughters, Sharon K. Logsdon and her husband William and Becky Reilly and her husband Philip both of Quincy; one son, Calvin W. Stinnett Jr and his wife Marla of Quincy; seven grandchildren, Jody Logsdon (Jarrod) of Quincy, William L. Logsdon (Brandy) of Quincy, C.J. Stinnett (Nichole) of LaGrange, MO, Brandy Bartlett (Chuck) of Ursa, IL, Alex Stinnett, Brittney Yates and Cassie Reilly all of Quincy; sixteen great grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.

   Mr. Stinnett was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Edward George, Donald, Harold and Perry Jr.; and one sister, Lillian Bredehoft.

   Private family graveside services will be held at the Quincy Memorial Park Mausoleum with Rev. Marlin Rempfer officiating.

   The Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

   Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Foundation and DAV.
