FERN W. SCHAFER

   Fern W. Schafer, 86 of 4128 Coachlight Ct. died at 12:30 am Sunday (April, 1, 2012) in her home.

   Born September 28, 1925 in Quincy, Fern was the daughter of Vincent Reuben and Zona Walker Boudreau.  She married Curtis J. Schafer on June 23, 1945 in Quincy.  He preceded her in death on August 18, 1988.

   Fern was a member of Bluff Hall Evangelical Free Church and belonged to the women's organization.  She had volunteered at Blessing Hospital and was a Past President of the Payson-Seymour PTA.  She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and was an avid reader.

   She worked at Gardner-Denver Company for 13 years and then as a sales clerk at Likes Jewelers.  She retired as a bookkeeper from Mating Jewelry Store.

   Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Crim (Kenneth) of Hull, IL and Bonnie Hibbard (Eldon) of Quincy; five grandchildren Kerry Walker, Dwight Hibbard (Kelley) both of Quincy, Allison Kleitz (Brett) of St. Louis, LeAnn Maiers (Tim) of Payson and Eric Crim (Erin) of St. Louis; 12 great-grandchildren Derek Hibbard, Sydney Hibbard and Gage Walker all of Quincy, Trevor Maiers, Megan Maiers and Amanda Maiers all of Payson, Victoria Kleitz, Alexander Kleitz, Elizabeth Kleitz, Curtis Crim, Caila Crim and Coen Crim all of St. Louis.

   Mrs. Schafer was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother Miles Boudreau and a sister Irene Chapman.

   Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Allen officiating.  Burial will be in Bluff Hall Cemetery.

   Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 and Thursday until the time of services at the funeral home.

  Memorials may be made to the Bluff Hall Cemetery or to Blessing Hospice.
