GEORGE  O.  GIBLEON

   Mr. George Ora Gibleon, 86, of 1014 Rhapsody Road, Quincy, Illinois, died at 4:58 p.m. Friday (May 11, 2012) in Blessing Hospital.

   Born March 18, 1926 in Kirksville, Missouri, George was the son of Bud and Mary Gibleon. He married Ruby E. Vollbracht on April 30, 1945 in Quincy. She preceded him in death on October 23, 2009.

   George was a member of Bodley Masonic Lodge No. 1 where he served as Past Master, Quincy Consistory, Ansar Shrine Temple of Springfield, Quincy Shrine Club, and was a life member of the International Brotherhood of Painters and Allied Trades. An avid fisherman and devoted family man, George's greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Gibleon served his country in the U. S. Navy during WW II.

   George was employed as a Glazer for 45 years, many with Hoener Glass Company and later for Oenning Glass and the Painters and Allied Trades Local Union until his retirement.

   Survivors include a daughter, Linda Meyers (David) of Quincy; three sons, Larry D. Gibleon (Jackie), Elmer L. Gibleon (Linda) and Glenn L. Gibleon (Ann) all of Quincy; a daughter in law, Patricia Gibleon of Quincy; eleven grandchildren; twenty eight great grandchildren, with another due in July; one great great grandchild with another due in August; and many loving nieces and nephews.

   Mr. Gibleon was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruby; a son, Kenneth E. Gibleon; his step father, Elmer Shoop; a brother, Joe Gibleon; and a sister, Mary Elizabeth Johnson.  

   Masonic Services by Bodley Lodge No. 1 will be held Tuesday morning at 11:00 and Funeral Services officiated by Chaplain Roger Selves will be Tuesday morning at 11:15 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.  Burial with Military Honors by Quincy American Legiion Post 37 and the Illinois National Guard Funeral Detail will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

   Visitation will be Tuesday morning from 9:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Shriner's Childrens Hospital.
