   Mrs. Dorothy E. Scheuermann, 78, of 4938 Lake Ridge Drive, Quincy, died at 11:45 a.m. Thursday (May 24, 2012) in Blessing Hospital.

   Born December 13, 1933 in Hancock County, Illinois, Dorothy was the daughter of George Frederick and Edith Kropp Gerhardt.  She married Robert H. Scheuermann on December 21, 1951 in Quincy. He survives.

    Dorothy was a member of Madison Park Christian Church where she was active with the Ever Ready Sunday School Class and Friendship Circle.  She was also a member of the Red Hat Ladies and the Lake Ridge Ladies Club.  Dorothy enjoyed working on her family genealogy, crafts, working with ceramics and crocheting. She was known for the many hats and blankets she crocheted for newborn babies.  She was devoted to her family and cherished the time she spent with them.

      Dorothy was employed at Motorola until their closing and then for many years in Quality Control at Broadcast Electronics until her retirement in 1992.

    Survivors include her husband, Robert; a daughter, Linda M. Waller of Quincy; a grandson, Daniel Waller (Janice) of Raleigh, N.C.; two great grandchildren, Samantha Waller and Kylee Waller; two brothers, Wayne Gerhardt (Kathy) of Cambria, CA and Gene Gerhardt (Lucy) of Sutter, IL; two sisters, Gwendolyn Schmitt Quincy and Sandra Pieper (Steve) of Quincy; and many loving nieces and nephews.

   Mrs. Scheuermann was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Willis Gerhardt; and a sister, Pauline Jenkins.

   Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 in Madison Park Christian Church by Pastor Mike Duffy.  Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery in Tioga, Illinois.

   Visitation will be Sunday afternoon  from 1:00 until the time of services at Madison Park Christian Church.

   Memorials may be made to Madison Park Christian Church or the Blessing Foundation for Hospice.

   The Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
