FRITZ  LICKFELD

   Mr. Gerd Fritz Lickfeld, 70, of Quincy, died at 12:17 p.m. Tuesday (September 18, 2012) in.Blessing Hospital.

   Born June 9, 1942 in Wohlunburg, Germany, Fritz was the son of Erich and Klara Heuer Lickfeld. He married Mary Lou Anders on December 14, 1963 in Quincy.  She survives.

   Fritz came to the United States at the age of 14 in 1957, going first to Fayette, Missouri and soon after coming to Quincy being sponsored by Salem Church.

   Fritz was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and a former member of the Eagles and Elks Lodge.  He enjoyed working in his yard and gardens, cooking on the grill, hunting with his friends and restoring cars.

   Fritz was employed as an autobody technician for Hilbing Autobody and owned and operated Lickfeld Autobody in Durham, Missouri for several years. He later worked at Sparks and Wiewel until his retirement in 1996.

   Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou; three children, Mark Lickfeld (Darla) of Rapid City, S.D., Dawn Hessling (Todd) of Fowler, IL and Kris White (Jeff) of Liberty, IL; eight grandchildren, Jason Bowman, Meghan Bowman, Landon White, Natali White, Nicholas Lickfeld, Joshua Lickfeld, Tanner Hessling and Taylor Hessling; a great granddaughter, Amiya Fletcher; two sisters, Elke Logue (Larry) of Hannibal, MO and Karla Wiewel (Dale) of Fowler, IL; and many loving nieces and nephews.

   Mr. Lickfeld was preceded in death by his parents.

   Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Marlin Rempfer.  Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

   Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Friday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to Blessing Home Health Care or St. James Lutheran Church.

Doug and I are speechless and incredibly saddened by the loss of a very good friend. Fritz always made us feel loved and welcomed and we will miss him greatly. Until we meet again for another round of highballs...

Mary Lou and Kids,
