   Mr. Richard L. Lefever, 82, of the Illinois Veteran's Home, formerly  of 1118 South 23rd, Quincy, died at 10:10 a.m. Saturday (December 15, 2012) in the Illinois Veteran's Home.

   Born October 14, 1930 in Hannibal, Missouri, Richard was the son of Russell and Marie Loehrke Lefever. He married Betty A. Gurry on November 30, 1952 in Hannibal, Missouri.  She survives.

   Richard was a member of New Beginnings Evangelical Free Church where he served as an Elder. He enjoyed golfing, trap shooting, hunting, and being a hobby farmer, taking care of various animals over the years. He loved being outdoors, especially when working in his yard and garden.

   Mr. Lefever was employed at Illinois Bell (A T & T) for many years, retiring in 1992 as a Communications Service Technician.

   Survivors include three children, Daniel Lefever (Gail) of Plano, TX, Chris Lefever (Laura) of Quincy and Cathy Lauke (Ted) of Morton Grove, IL; ten grandchildren,Travis Lefever (Nicole), Melissa Fletcher (Scott), Patrick Lefever (Perryn), Elizabeth Lefever, Sherry Lauke, Jordan Lefever, Quentin Lefever, Atticus Lefever, Piper Lefever, Tenley Lefever, and was awaiting the arrival of his eleventh grandchild due next May. Also surviving are six great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Welch of Hannibal, MO; and many loving nieces and nephews.

   Mr. Lefever was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Russell Lefever and David Lefever; and two sisters, Betty Myers and Bonnie Dudding.

   Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Pastor Chris Lefever.  Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

   Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Wednesday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
