NORMA  J.  LAVINGON

   Mrs. Norma J. LaVingon, 87, of the Country Aire Retirement Estates, Lewistown, Missouri, formerly of Maywood, Missouri, died at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday (February 20, 2013) in the home.

   Born November 27, 1925 in Plymouth, Illinois, Norma was the daughter of Wayne and Elsie McTee Clark. She married Donald A. LaVingon on July 22, 1944 in Kansas City, Kansas . He preceded her in death on July 27, 1985.

   Norma was a 1943 graduate of Plymouth High School. She enjoyed watching the Hummingbirds, fishing, league bowling, keeping her diary and especially loved her four poodle dogs Lucky, Mae Mae, Bubba and Suzie.

   Norma worked for a short time as a hostess at the Holiday Inn when it first opened in Quincy. She was later employed as the Superintendent of the Adams County Youth Home by appointment of County Judge Richard F. Scholz for several years. After her retirement she opened and managed a restaurant at the Quincy Regional Airport for several years.

  
   Survivors includ a granddaughter, Stacy John and Daniel of Macomb; three great grandchildren, Claire Rittenhouse of Macomb, twins  Marly Buyck and Dylan Buyck both of East Moline and close friends and caregivers, Doug and Karen Fields of Ewing, MO.

   Norma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; a son, David LaVingon and a daughter in law, Kathy.

   Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Pastor Steve Disseler. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

   Visitation will be Monday morning from 9:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
