EVERETT  "KIT"  CARLSON

   Mr. Everett E. "Kit" Carlson Jr., 74, of 710 North 24th, Quincy, died at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday (February 27, 2013) in Blessing Hospital.

   Born June 19, 1938 in Richland, Missouri, Everett was the son of Everett and Elva B. Nickels Carlson Sr.  He married Marlene M. Beatty on February 11, 1961 in Alton, Illinois. She survives.

   Mr. Carlson devoted his life to his family and loved the time he spent with them, especially his grandchildren.  An avid fisherman, Kit was a member of the North Side Boat Club where he enjoyed trap shooting.

   Along with his brother, Mr. Carlson owned and operated Walter Chatten Implement Company for over 30 years, retiring in 2008.

   Survivors include his wife, Marlene; his mother, Elva Carlson of Quincy; two daughters, Carrie Edgar (Mark) of Madison, WI and Penny Hutton (Bruce) of Quincy; three grandchildren, Ty Carlson of Madison, WI and Tracy Hutton and Anna Hutton both of Quincy; three step grandchildren, Marec Edgar of Philadelphia, PA, Miranda Edgar of Racine, WI and Mallory Edgar of Ann Arbor, MI; a brother, Roger Carlson of Quincy; and many loving nieces and nephews.

   Mr. Carlson was preceded in death by his father.

   Cremation rites have been accorded to Mr. Carlson. Memorial services will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.

   The family will meet with friends  Sunday from 11:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to Carlson grandchildren educational fund.

To all the Carlson family I am so sorry to hear about J.R. he will be missed dearly he will now be an angel looking down on you being proud we love you all and if you need anything just call.

I have only very fond memories of time spent with Jr. and all of you during my childhood. We know that he is in a better place, along with my mom and without the pain that sickness on earth causes. I will pray that you you find peace and comfort in God. Love you all, Julie
