   Mr. Hubert A. Shoop, 93, of Maywood, Missouri, died at 5:05 a.m. Friday (March 29, 2013) in Blessing Hospital.

   Born September 28, 1919 in Des Moines, Iowa, Hubert was the son of Charles and Bertha Underwood Shoop.  He married Carlene Gronewold on August 10, 1942 in Palmyra, Missouri.  She survives.

   Mr. Shoop was a member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ, Gardner Denver Quarter Century Club and the Machinist Local 822. Hubert enjoyed hunting, fishing and working outdoors in his garden. He will be remembered for his quick wit and dry sense of humor.

   Hubert worked with the CCC Camps until he began his career at Gardner Denver Company, where he worked for 40 years until his retirement.

   Survivors include his wife, Carlene; a son, Jerry L. Shoop (Aloma) of Maywood, MO; a daughter, Peggy Wiesemann (Harold) of LaGrange, MO; five grandchildren, Jamie Schroder (Lisa) of Maywood, MO, Jason Shoop (Stacey) of Canton, MO, Theresa Jarland of Rochester, MN, Carol Wiesemann of LaGrange, MO and Gary Wiesemann of Quincy; seven great grandchildren, Michael Wiesemann, Megan Wiesemann, Sierra Schroder, Devin Schroder, Randia Sparrow (Jeremy), Justin Jarland and Jared Jarland; two great great grandchildren, Brooklyn Sparrow and Madison Sparrow; and many loving nieces and nephews.

   Mr. Shoop was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Craig Wiesemann; and three sisters, Juanita Gronewold, Mildred Kaufmann and Dorothy.

   Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy by the Rev. Russell Brownell.  Burial will be in New Providence Cemetery near Ursa, Illinois.

   Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 and Wednesday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to the Blessing Heart Center, Salem Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
