   Mr. Wendell C. Funk, 90, of 1707 North 12th, Quincy, died at 3:35 a.m. Sunday (June 9, 2013) in Blessing Hospital.

   Born March 6, 1923 in Pike County, Illinois, Wendell was the son of James Ralph and Mary Uldine Churchill Funk.

   Mr. Funk served his country in the U. S. Army Air Corps during WW II.

   Mr. Funk had farmed, taught school and owned and operator a sporting goods store during his lifetime. When Wendell was 66, he joined the Peace Corps and served 2 years teaching agriculture in Botswana. He was a die-hard liberal and environmentalist who truly cared about others and the planet we live on.

   Cremation rites have been accorded to Mr. Funk.  No services will be held.
