Mr. Harold G. Schork, 75, of Quincy, died at 5:45 a.m. Saturday (June 15, 2013) in his home.

Born October 25, 1937 in Monticello, Missouri, Harold was the son of Karl M. and Pearl Fishback Schork. He married E. Christina "Chris" Stough on February 11, 1961 in Quincy. She survives.

Harold attended The Crossing Church at 48th & Maine and was active with many community organizations and projects. Harold served on the boards of Great River Economic Development Foundation, St. Mary’s Hospital, Quincy Community Foundation, United Way and the Rotary Club. In 1997 he was awarded The Distinguished Citizen of The Year by The Mississippi Valley Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed golfing. Mr. Schork served his country in the U. S. Army.

Harold was a graduate of Lewistown High School and attended Kirksville Teacher's College (Truman State University). He began his banking career in 1961 as a collector for Illinois State Bank, working his way up through the years to become President. He retired in 1997 as President of Nations Bank.

Survivors include his wife, Chris; a daughter, Shelly Salisbury of Quincy; a son, Todd Schork (Ann) of Littleton, CO; five grandchildren, Zachary, Erin & Garth Salisbury, Bethanie and Emily Pack; two sisters, Jenny Reid (Jerry) of LaGrange, MO and Mary Lou Smoot of Bakersfield, CA; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Mr. Schork was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Wayne Schork and Richard Schork; and a sister, Dorothy Spindler.

Cremation rites have been accorded to Mr. Schork. A service to celebrate Harold's life will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at The Crossing Church 48th & Maine by Pastor Jim Dennis.

The family will meet with friends following the services at The Crossing.

The Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family requests no flowers but to honor Harold by giving memorials to Quincy Community Foundation, The Crossing, or Blessing Hospice.

Please know that you have our deepest condolences. Harold was a true gentleman, and a great friend to my father and my family. I know you feel lucky to have been such a special part of his life.
