   Margaret V. Lierly, 85, of Quincy, died at 3:24 a.m. Saturday (July 20, 2013) in Blessing Hospital.

   Born November 12, 1927 in Burton Township, Illinois, Margaret was the daughter of William C. "Dick" and Mary Elliot Lierly.

   A graduate of Liberty High School, Margaret received her Associate Degree from John Wood Community College and her Bachelors Degree from Quincy University.

   Margaret was employed at Two Rivers Regional Council of Public Officials and later went to work for the State of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, retiring after 25 years of service. Following her retirement, she managed her farm and rental properties.

  Survivors include her friends and caregivers, Kevin Carder and Mary Miller both of Quincy.

  Ms. Lierly was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Addie Anna Klassing.

   Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Pastor Larry Wentzel.  Burial will be in the Burton Cemetery, Burton, Illinois.

   Visitation will be Wednesday from 12:00 Noon until the time of services at the funeral home.  

   Memorials may be made to the Quincy Humane Society.

I worked with Margaret for several years before her retirement. She was always a pleasant person. My sympathy to her friends and family.

I took care of Margaret's sister Addie and also took care of Margaret and helped her. She was a very caring giving women and she also loved animals exspecially her cats she had many. I will truly miss her.
