   Mr. Donald L. Smith, 69, of 1902 Wilmar Orchard, Quincy, died at 5:05 a.m. Monday (July 22, 2013) in his home.

   Born September 2, 1943 in Quincy, Don was the son of Earl E. and Lois Mae Beer Smith Sr. He married Marcia Wiegmann on June 17, 1967 in Quincy. She survives.

   Don was a former member of the Elks Lodge No. 100 and was an avid Quincy Blue Devil fan who enjoyed attending basketball, soccer and football games.

   Don was employed for 41 years as a truck driver for Kohl Wholesale. He retired in 2006.

   Survivors include his wife, Marcia; two sons, Alan Smith (fiance', Rebecca McCollum) of Quincy and Jeffrey Smith (Jessica) of Belton, MO; three grandchildren, Wesley Smith and Jillian Smith of Belton, MO and Brice Renshaw of Quincy; two brothers, Darrell Smith of Springfield, IL and Terry Smith (Maria) of Maywood, MO; a sister, Sharon Cross of Quincy; a half sister, Donna Hoskins of Quincy; and many loving nieces and nephews.

   Mr.  Smith was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Earl E.  Smith Jr.

   Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Pastor Roger Stevens.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Quincy.

   Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Thursday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice.

You have our sincere sympathy. Don was our Kohl driver for many years. He was so friendly and always had a smile. He knew everyone's name and even after retiring would stop by for a sandwich and make it a point to speak to all the employees he knew. He will be deeply missed.
