STEVE  PADEN

   Mr. Joseph Stephen "Steve" Paden, 62, of 1212 South 17th, Quincy, died at 9:15 a.m. Friday (August 30, 2013) in his home.

   Born July 20, 1951 in Quincy, Steve was the son of Joseph and Hazel Hogge Paden. He married Pamela A. Morris on September 3, 1977 in Quincy. She survives.

   Steve was a 1969 graduate of Quincy High School where he was active with Football, Track and Marching Band. An avid sportsman and fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinals, Steve loved golfing, playing in many W.I.G.A. tournaments and bowling in several leagues and was a member of the Quincy Bowling Association. He also coached soccer in the Quinissippi Soccer League and was a member of the Mart Heinen Club and was a former Jay-Cee member.  Steve also had a passion for music and played guitar in (The Explorers) band.

   Steve was employed for 24 years as a salesman for Althoff Wholesale Foods and later for Kohl Grocers for the past 9 years.

    Survivors include his wife, Pam; his mother, Hazel Paden of Quincy; three daughters, Kari Wetzel (Mike) of Ursa, Amanda Paden (Rob Kimbrell) of Quincy and Lori Paden of Quincy; a son, Bryan Paden of Quincy; four grandchildren, Brady Paden, Ashlynd Wetzel, Aiden Snider and Camden Paden; a sister, Tami DeLay (John) of Mason, Ohio and her children, Renee DeLay and Aimee Donnellon (Kevin) and Aimee's children, Ryan, Alexander and Benjamin.  Also surviving is his mother in law, Charlene Morris of Quincy; four brothers in law, Greg Morris (Pam), Kenny Morris (Terri), Jeff Morris and Roger Morris (Amy Calvin); two sisters in law, Denise Blackledge (Jerry) and Kim Nixon (Tad); and many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

   Steve was  preceded in death by his father, Joseph Paden; and his father in law, Robert Morris.

   Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Pastor Steve Surratt.  Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

   Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Thursday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to the Grandchildren's Educational Fund.

SO SORRY TO HEAR OF STEVES PASSING. WE WERE FRIENDS 40 YEARS AGO,AN PLAYED FOOTBALL TOGETHER. WE HAD MANY GOOD TIMES TOGETHER THAT WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. MY HEART GOES OUT TO ALL HIS FAMILY MEMBERS + FRIENDS.
