ARLIE A. MIXER

       Mr. Arlie A. Mixer, 88, of 3611 Orchard Rd., died at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday (April 25, 2007) in Blessing Hospital.

     Born June 5, 1918 in Adams County, Illinois near Liberty, Arlie was the son of Jesse A. and Mary Harriett Witt Mixer. He married Bertha M. Hohner on February 21, 1940 in Hannibal, Missouri. She survives.

     Mr. Mixer was a member of Living Water Fellowship and Gideon International. Arlie loved to do woodworking and was a helpful friend to everyone and especially cherished the time he spent with his friends, family and grandchildren.

     Arlie farmed all his life in McDonough, Pike, and Fulton Counties retiring in 1978. He and his wife moved to Arizona and then moved back to Adams County in 1987.

     Also surviving is a daughter, C. Jeanette Huff of Danville, IL.; four sons, Kenneth Mixer and his wife Dana of Tucson, AZ., Roger Mixer and his wife Sherrill of East Moline, IL., Ronald Mixer and Carol Shoreack of Bloomington, IL. and Dennis Mixer and his wife Cheryl of Cincinnati, OH.; eleven grandchildren, Andrew Mixer and his wife Julie, Joshua Mixer and his wife Michelle, Richard "Rusty" Mixer, Bryan Mixer and Amy Royster, Lisa Tarbell and her husband Jim, Kenneth Huff and his wife Nancy, Kenton "Kit" Huff and his wife Tracy, Kevin Huff and Diane, Krystal Vollmer and her husband Randy, Elisabeth Mixer, and Rebecca Mixer; 19 great grandchildren; a brother, Dale Mixer and his wife Dorothy of Payson, IL.; and a sister, Zelma Ranney of Wichita, KS.; and several nieces and nephews.

     He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Lyndell L. Mixer, and two brothers in infancy.

     Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 1:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Rev. Jay Waters. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery near Fishhook, IL.

      Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 at the funeral home.

     Memorials may be made to Gideon International or the charity of the donor's choice.
