THELMA  E.  HOLCUMBRINK

   Mrs. Thelma E. Holcumbrink, 93, of Sunset Home, formerly of 1606 Melrose Drive, Quincy, died at 5:30 p.m. Sunday (October 13, 2013) in Sunset Home.

   Born January 1, 1920 in Ewing, Missouri, Thelma was the daughter of William and Dora Martin Dowling. She married Eugene A. Holcumbrink on January 22, 1937 in Hannibal, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 12, 1980.

   Thelma had been active in the Jackson School PTA where she was a past president, Women of the Moose where she held various offices and the Academy of Friendship. She enjoyed spending time with friend and family.

   Mrs. Holcumbrink was employed as a secretary at Monroe Elementary School for 16 years and later at Pepsi Cola Bottling Company until her retirement.

     Survivors include her son, Gary Holcumbrink (Patricia) of Quincy; a daughter in law, Carolyn Holcumbrink of Broken Arrow, OK; seven grandchildren, Judy Wiseman, Janet Tanner (Kevin), Robin West (Darrell), Stacy Hardy (Rob), Shelley Zammataro, Erica Kevane (Joe) and Michael Holcumbrink (Jennifer); twenty one great grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.

   Mrs. Holcumbrink was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene; a son, Philip L. Holcumbrink; a brother, Leonard Dowling; and a sister, Leona Wiseman.

     Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Pastor Bruce Rice.  Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

   Visitation will be Thursday morning from 9:30 until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Grandma had a great spirit- and great sense of humor always- I hope I have inherited that part of her. Rest in peace Grandma.
