TERRENCE "BEAR"  BROWN

    Terry "Bear" Brown, 60, of West Point, IL passed away at 2:05 p.m. (October 21, 2013) in Memorial Hospital in Carthage, IL.

   Born January 9, 1953 in Quincy he was the son of Herbert and Clara Baker Brown. He married Bonnie Lou Marshall on March 23, 1973 in Quincy. She survives.

   Terry enjoyed camping, going to auctions, yard sales and working on lawn mowers. He especially loved spending time with his family and taking his grandchildren fishing. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps.

   Mr. Brown was employed as a mechanic for Maas Enterprises in Mendon for 10 years until his retirement in 2006 due to ill health.

   Survivors include his wife, Bonnie; a daughter, Rhonda Brown (Albert Grossman) of Hamilton, IL; four sons, Tommy Brown (Mary Griggs), Zachary Brown both of Quincy, Brandon Brown (Rachael) of West Point and Joe Brown (Dawn) of Basco; eight grandchildren, Joseph "Joey" Grossman, Country Grossman, Kelcy Nelson, Wyatt Brown, Cohl Brown, Alicia Brown, Anna Brown and Brooklyn Brown; three sisters, Leann Glesner (Dan) of Kemp, TX, Josie Day of Quincy and Laretha Benfield (Dwayne) of Hickory, NC; a brother-in-law, Bob Christ of Quincy. Also surviving are several loving nieces and nephews.

   Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Roger Brown; two sisters, Dixie Brown and Vivian Christ.

   Funeral services will be held Saturday evening at 6:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Larry Nelson officiating.

   Visitation will be held Saturday evening from 4:00 until 6:00 at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to the Bear Brown memorial fund.
