   Mr. Douglas L. "Doug" Brown, 65, of Quincy, died at 3:55p.m. Friday (December 13, 2013) in his home.

   Born January 20, 1948 in Quincy, Doug was the son of Glenn "Diz" and Vivian Darlene Allensworth Brown. He married Trudy K. Kohl Kindhart on June 9, 1978 in Quincy. She survives.

   An avid outdoorsman, Doug loved hunting, fishing, trapshooting, working in his yard and tinkering in his garage. He also enjoyed being a Ham Radio Operator, yard sales and auctions and going to and participating in flea markets.  Doug was a member of South Side Boat Club and the American Amateur Radio League.

   Mr. Brown was employed at Gardner Denver and then at Diamond Construction for several years. He also owned and operated Mr. Line Painter in Quincy. He recently retired because of health reasons.

   Survivors include his wife, Trudy; his mother, Darlene Brown of Fowler, IL; three daughters, Stacey Carnes (Jose Chavez) of Beardstown, IL, Amber "Amy" Brown and Tammy Brown both of Quincy; ten grandchildren, Nathan Carnes, Greggory Carnes, Frankie Garcia, Brooke Brown, Josee Chavez, Ezequiel Chavez, Matthew Brown, Michael Brown, Shandi Brown and Cory Brown; a brother, Greg Brown (Tamara) of Kirksville, MO; a sister, Penny Doran of Fowler, IL; two brothers in law, Ron Kohl (Anna) and Marvin Kohl (Elaine) both of Quincy; a sister in law, Mary Weyant of Quincy; many loving nieces and nephews; and his beloved yellow lab, Holly.

   Mr. Brown was preceded in death  by his father, Glenn Brown; and a step son, David Earl Kindhart.

   Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Pastor Steve Disseler.  Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

   Visitation will be Monday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Tuesday until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to the Doug Brown Memorial Fund or the Blessing Foundation for Hospice.

I am sorry for your loss of Doug. I did not know he was of bad health or I would of liked to think that I could of made more of a effort to come by and visit. If I can do any thing for you, I will do what I can.
