DOROTHY  M.  OSTERMAN

   Mrs. Dorothy M.  Osterman, 90, of the North Adams Home in Mendon, Illinois, formerly of Payson, Illinois, died at 10:00 a.m. Monday (December 23, 2013) in North Adams Home.

   Born December 14, 1923 in Camp Point, Illinois, Dorothy was the daughter of Lee and Margaret Ford Rhea.  She married Harold Osterman on March 2, 1942 in Palmyra, Missouri. He preceded her in death on October 22, 1997.

   Dorothy devoted her life to her family and cherished the time she spent with them, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

   Mrs. Osterman was a painter for the House Family Farms and for many years with her husband was the groundskeeper for Payson New Cemetery.

   Survivors include two daughters, Katherine Willis (Dale) of Quincy and Carolyn Reckers (Don) of Payson; four grandchildren, Daphne Simon (Merle) of Liberty, IL, Niki Stanford (John) of Payson, IL, Mike Willis of Quincy and Josh Willis (Sarah) of Wildwood, MO; six great grandchildren, Logan Simon, Levi Simon, Josie Stanford, Maggie Stanford, Eszter Willis and Zane Willis; and many loving nieces and nephews.

   Mrs. Osterman was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Lloyd Rhea; and three sisters, Mary Ellen Osborne, Mildred Corder and Darlene Reckers.

    Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Payson.  Burial will be in the Payson New Cemetery.

   Visitation will be Friday morning from 10:00 until the time of services at the funeral home in Payson.

    Memorials may be made to the North Adams Home Special Care  Unit or the Payson New Cemetery Association.

Katie and family.......I am so sorry to hear of Dorothy's passing. She was such a treasure and full of life when I took care of her at NAH. God Bless you all in this time of need. My prayers and thoughts are with you all.

So sorry to hear of the passing of 'Grandma Osterman'. She was a wonderful lady. We always enjoyed talking to her at family events. She is at peace now. Our thoughts are with all of you; especially Carolyn and Kate.

We at North Adams Home are saddened by the passing of our "Grandma" the staff here so loved Dorothy and I could of swore I heard her this morning. She was such a fun lady and we are blessed to have known her. Thanks for sharing her with us.
