ELSIE  I.  JONES

   Mrs. Elsie I. Jones, 73, of Ursa, Illinois, died at 1:05 a.m. Monday (January 6, 2014) in Blessing Hospital.

   Born August 9, 1940 in Clayton, Illinois, Elsie was the daughter of Herschel and Maude Davis Friday. She married Richard Jones on December 16, 1983 in Quincy. He survives.

   Elsie was a member of Glory Worship Church in Clayton. She enjoyed scrapbooking, but her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Elsie will also be fondly remembered for her Carrot Cake, which she made for her family on special occasions.

   Elsie had been employed at Marlboro Wire, Shelor Globe and Moorman Manufacturing. Most recently, she owned and operated a daycare from her home.

   Survivors include her husband, Richard; two daughters, Gloria Fulk and Charlene Bell (Mike) both of Quincy; a son, Russell "Rusty" Jones (Marcia) of Quincy; two step sons, Darren Jones of Quincy and Ricky Jones of Payson, IL;  ten grandchildren, Justin Fulk, Jeremy Fulk, Nicole Hesse, Melvin Crawford, Riki Hickey (Seth), Chrissy Kindhart, Brianna Jones, Amber Zuniga, Matt Zuniga and Nathan Zuniga; four step grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren including Dallas, Madison and Jersey; two brothers, Greg Friday of Quincy and Wayne Friday (Pat) of Liberty, IL; two sisters, Nancy Shoop and Shirley Miller both of Quincy; and many loving nieces and nephews.

   Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Richie A. Crawford; two brothers, Wendell "Buck" Friday and Terry "Pete" Friday; and two sisters, Luella Boernson and Wanda Boernson.

   Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Pastor Terry Cain.  Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

   Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Thursday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to the Unity School District No. 4.

Im so sorry to hear about your loss of Elsie. I grew up knowing her and her family, she and her family were like family to me. We all lived in the same nieghborhood most of my childhood. I send all my love and prayer's to each of you.

You have my deepest sympathy. She fought a long battle and may she RIP.
She will be missed by many. Such a sweet person. I pray the family can remember the joy they shared while they go through the grieving.

Gloria and Charlene,
And into one's life comes a calming and knowing force; that was my Aunt Elsie. She could sooth my anxious heart and affirm that all was well. I will forever love her and her pan-fried pork chops!

Char Im so sorry. She was an amazing women. I know how close you two were and always will be. My heart breaks for you. There will never be a good Carrot Cake made on this earth again. I remember the day you guy pulled up to my house with the Carrot Cake for my birthday. It was the best birthday present I got. I love you girl. I hope you know Im here for you.

Hey Rick, We are so sorry for your loss, Elsie was a Sweetheart and I'm sure she has left the oxygen bottle behind and is resting now with the Big Guy In The Sky. May you and your family be at peace knowing she will never be in pain again.
