COLE MICHAEL SCHAFFNIT

   Cole Michael Schaffnit, 54, of Quincy died at 2:45 p.m. Monday (April 21, 2014) in Quincy.

   Born November 4, 1959 in Quincy, Cole was the son of Jerry W. and Nancy Jo Purdin Schaffnit Hall.

   Cole was a 1977 graduate of Quincy High School and a avid Chicago Bears football fan and St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.  He enjoyed playing darts, pool, and listening to all kinds of music.  Cole provided a place for new bands to play and helped to organize benefits for people.

   He was employed in golf course maintence at the Quincy Country Club for 15 years and later as manager of the Cougar's Den for 4 years.

   Survivors include his mother, Nancy Jo Hall of Quincy; his fiancee Linda Gilker of Quincy; one son Clinton C. Schaffnit; one grandson Damien Schaffnit both of Lake of the Ozarks, MO; one brother David Schaffnit (Sherry) of Quincy; one sister Jodi Bliven of Quincy.  Also surviving is a uncle Jim Schaffnit (Terri) of Quincy; a niece Kylie Bliven and a nephew Joshua Bliven both of Quincy.

   Mr. Schaffnit was preceded in death by his father.

  A memorial service will be held Thursday morning 11:00 a.m. in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Wentzel officiating.  Inurnment will take place at a later date.

   Visitation will be Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to the Blessing Cancer Center or the YMCA Youth Baseball Program.

Dear Family, I am sorry for your loss. Cole would visit his Grandparents on North 16th St where I grew up and we would play ball out in the street with all the neighborhood kids. I wish you Peace!
