   Mrs. Hazel F. Paden, 92, of the Sycamore Health Care Centre, formerly of 2221 Rainbow Lane, Quincy, died at 5:55 a.m. Friday (May 23, 2014) in Sycamore Health Care Centre.

   Born April 10, 1922 in Quincy, Hazel was the daughter of Estil Glen and Edna Grace Shurt Hogge. She married Joseph R. Paden on December 31, 1949 in Palmyra, Missouri.  He preceded her in death on February 9, 1984.

   Hazel was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and the Women of the Moose.  She enjoyed working in her garden, bowling and boating out on the river.

   A graduate of Quincy High School, Hazel was employed at Motorola until their closing and then for 10 years as a C.N.A. at the  Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy. Following her retirement, Hazel wanted to help others and  worked at Quincy Terrace. She continued caring for others even after moving to Sycamore Health Care Center by helping with other residents needs when she could.

   Survivors include a daughter, Tamara "Tami" DeLay (John) of Mason, OH; a daughter in law, Pam Paden of Quincy; six grandchildren, Kari Wetzel (Mike) of  Ursa, IL, Amanda Paden (Rob Kimbrell) of Quincy, Lori Paden of Quincy, Bryan Paden of Quincy, Renee DeLay of Mason, OH and Aimee Donnellon (Kevin) of Mainville, OH; seven great grandchildren, Brady Paden, Ashlynd Wetzel, Aiden Snider, Camden Paden, Ryan Donnellon, Alexander Donnellon and Benjamin Donnellon and was excitedly awaiting the birth of her eighth great grandchild due in October. Also surviving are two brothers, Jack Hogge (Vivian) and Duane Hogge (Jody) both of Quincy; a brother in law, Jim Bailey of Willow Park, TX; a sister in law, Annie Hogge of Menifee, AR; and many loving nieces and nephews.

   Mrs. Paden was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph; a son, Steve Paden; three brothers, Charles Hogge Ted Hogge and Bud Hogge; two sisters, Bette Bailey and Esther McLaughlin (Wayne); and a sister in law, Rosemary Hogge.

   Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the New Providence Cemetery near Ursa, Illinois.

   Visitation will be Tuesday morning from 9:30 until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made the Quincy Chapter Alzheimer's Association or Sycamore Health Care Centre.

Hey Tami, I'm so sorry.
We joke that the old pontoon is filling up, and Mom has great
company off the shore of hog back, watchin the young guys and fighting
over the binoculars!
Now that Tom's on there to captain and be deck boy, they have it made...
oh! wait a minute!
Tom was rescued by Steve in your boat! Old ladies on their own.

Steve and Tom are fighting over the binocs, too!
Look at those girls in 1968 bikinis!

Hope to meet you on hog back in the VERY DISTANT future...
but we need to be old enuf to drink!
