CHARLES  A. BLACK JR.

   Mr. Charles "Chuck" Black Jr., 62, of Quincy died at 8:35 a.m. Monday (June 9, 2014) in his home.

   Born August 21, 1951 in Hannibal, Missouri he was the son of Charles A. and Mary Ruth Knowles Black. He married Doris Cooper Rice on October 22, 1982 in Palmyra, Mo. She Survives.

   He was a 1971 graduate of Hannibal Sr. High School and was a member of the NRA. He served his country in the United States Air Force. Chuck enjoyed riding his motorcycle, cooking, reading, doing photography,  woodworking, listening to music and going to the movies.Chuck had a quick wit and sense of humor and really enjoyed a good old fashion gab-fest with his family and friends. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

    Chuck was a self employed "Jack of all trades".

   Survivors include his wife, Doris "Dory"; three sons, Steve Rice (Carrie) and Austin Black both of Quincy and Tom Rice (Jennifer) of Kirksville, MO; five grandchildren, Ella Marie Rice, Ana Irene Rice, Abram Charles Rice all of Quincy, Kamron May Rice and A.J. Thompson both of Kirksville, MO; two brothers, Clifford "Dusty" Black (Brenda) of Hannibal and Kenneth Black (Sue) of Maywood, MO; two sisters, Tammie Kerns (Cecil) of New London, MO, Robin Black (Dean) of Plainville and a half sister Patricia Davis of Quincy; four brothers in law, Kenneth Cooper, Bob Cooper (Debbie), Gary Cooper oll of Quincy and Vernon Cooper (Nancy) of Canton OH. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

   Mr. Black was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Christopher D. Black; two sisters, Mary A. Mitchell and Rosalee Carrico; his father and mother in law, Vernon and Letha Cooper.

   Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:00 with Gary Hollensteiner and Dixie Koch officiating at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Payson. Burial will be in Payson New Cemetery .

   Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 in the  Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy and Friday morning from 9:00 until the time of services at the Funeral Home in Payson.

   Casket Bearers for Chuck will be Chris Benner, Josh Lewis, Steven Green, Kenneth Black II., Bob Cooper and A.J. Thompson. Honorary Bearers are Kamron May Rice, Ella Marie Rice, Ana Irene Rice and Abram Charles Rice.

   Memorials may be made to the Illinois Veterans Home Activity Fund.

To all Family members We are so sorry for your loss, ( Rusty ) as I knew him was a Wonderful person. Just know that he is no longer suffering, he is with Aunt Ruth, Uncle Charles, Berta & Rosealee and other family members that have went before him. I am sure he is having a blast up there. You all will be in our Thoughts & Prayers.
