JOHN SCOTT  FORTNER

   Mr. John Scott Fortner 44, of Quincy, died at 7:05 p.m. Monday (July 7, 2014) in his home.

   Born April 3, 1970 in Quincy. He was the son of Andrew L. "Levi" and  Betty Lee Phillips Fortner.

   John was a computer enthusiast and enjoyed listening to music, watching movies, taking drives and shopping. He was an avid Bible reader and enjoyed studying and discussing the Scripture with his family. He loved spending time with his family, especially during the Holidays.

   Mr. Fortner was a concert music promoter for over 25 years.

   Survivors include his mother, Betty; two brothers, Rodney "Rod" Fortner (Joanne) and Jeff Fortner;  two sisters, Sue Lockett (Mark) and Patty Littleton (Roger); six nieces, Jennifer Littleton, Danielle Littleton, Sara Lockett, Marissa Fortner, Andrea Fortner and Rebecca Fortner; a nephew, Ryan Lockett and a great niece, Amaria Lockett.

   He was preceded in death by his father, Levi.
  
   Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at  10:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with  Pastor Paul Lamm and Dr.Greg Javaux officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

   Visitation will be held Friday evening from 4:00 until 7:00  and Saturday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association or to Blessing Foundation for Hospice.

John, You were a wonderfully sweet man! I met you when I would come and hang out with Mad Dog to talk about music. You guys would tell me the coolest stories. I have always known you to be honest and kind. You are going to be missed. God Speed with much love.

John was a great man who loved being with people. He was a good friend to me and was always willing to take time to listen or help with a project. There were so many great times hanging out in Quincy and a few road trips as well. You will be missed John.

I am so sad to hear about John. I will miss him. He was such a nice person and always so good to everyone. He loved his family so much. I will keep him in my thoughts and heart. My family enjoyed him so much.

i want to say to the family and friends how deeply sorry i am to you. john was a really loving and caring man. i first met him in the boy scouts at central baptist church. i lost track of him until i found him on facebook. he helped me get through alot of tough times with his godly advise. he will be sorely missed by everyone he has touched. i am happy in knowing he is with his lord and savior now.
