   Jeffery Lee Payne,54, of Charlotte, North Carolina, formerly of Good Hope, Illinois, passed away at 3:15 pm Thursday(August 14, 2014) at the home of his sister in Charlotte, North Carolina.

   Born April 6, 1960 in Carthage, Illinois, Jeff was the son of William H. and Dellene Nelson Payne Jr.

Jeff was a 1978 graduate of Northwestern High School in Sciota, Illinois and a graduate of Hamilton Technical College in Davenport, Iowa in April 1989.

Jeff was employed at Magraw Edison in Macomb, Illinois, Squirrel Company of Canada in Atlanta, Georgia and Wichita, Kansas. He was currently employed at Cabaret Systems of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Jeff is survived by his mother, Dellene Payne of Good Hope IL; two brothers, Vic Payne of Bardolph, IL and Randy Payne (Karen) of Plymouth, IL;four sisters, Pam Powell (Rob) of Colchester, IL, Brenda L'Hommedieu of Good Hope, IL, Roberta Ault (Stan) of Charlotte, NC and Cindy Sanchez (Jerry) of Galesburg, IL; an Aunt, Barbara Cookson of Quincy, IL, two cousins, Robin Leonard (Howard) of Quincy, IL and Rick Cookson of Seymour, Indiana; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father, William H Payne Jr.; a brother, William R Payne; and two nephews, Ryan Leach and Trent Hainline.

The family will meet with friends to celebrate the life of Jeffery Lee Payne from 4:00 to 7:00  p.m.  Friday (August 22, 2014) at the home of his mother, Dellene Payne, 515 West Main, Good Hope, IL.

Private graveside memorial services will be held in the Scott Cemetery in Plymouth, IL.

In leiu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lavene Cancer Institute, P.O. Box  32861, Charlotte, NC 28232

My best friend and co worker for the past 25 years. I will miss you every time I venture into the tech room. I think of you often.

I was lucky enough to know JP, and fortunate enough to work beside him for years. He was a great friend with a heart of gold. My deepest condolences to his family.
