   Velma R. Woodward, 94, of Payson, died at 2:05 pm (Wednesday October 22, 2014) in Good Samaritan Home.

   Born July 5 ,1920, in Plainville, Illinois, Velma was the daughter of Frank P. and Gertrude Richmond Wagy.  She married Loyd Woodward on August 19, 1960 in Quincy.  He preceded her in death on January 12, 1981.

   Velma was a member of the Payson United Methodist Church and enjoyed league bowlng, gardening and was active with R.S.V.P. and the Payson Senior Citizens.
   Velma was employed for many years at the White Star Dry Cleaners until her marriage in 1960 when she became a full time homemaker.

   Survivors include a brother, Donald Wagy (Virginia) of Quincy; a sister, Shirley Weyand of Quincy; a step daughter, Carol Gronewold (Kent) of Lima, IL; a step daughter in law, Mary Woodward of Quincy; several step grandchildren including, Richard Woodward of Tacoma, WA, Monica Brumagin (Phil) of Reistertown, MD, Theresa Leffew (Jim) of Quincy, Melissa Woodward of Baltimore, MD, Lance Gronewold (Jennifer) of Lima, IL, and Tracie Jackson (Todd ) of Lima, IL; and many loving step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

   Mrs. Woodward was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Loyd; two brothers, Harold Wagy and Melvin Wagy; two sisters, Irene Bolinger and Mildred Quincy; four step sons, Donald Woodward, George Woodward, Marion Dale Woodward and Delbert Woodward; and two step daughters, Patty Cherry and Peggy Woodward.

   Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Payson with Pastor Sidney Crowcroft officiating.   Burial will be in the Payson New Cemetery.

   Visitation will be held Saturday morning from 10:00 until the time of services at the funeral home in Payson.

   Memorials may be made to the Payson United Methodist Church.
