ANDRE  J.  FISH

   Andre J. Fish, 93, of Quincy, died at 12:05 p.m. Thursday (November 27, 2014) in his home.

   Born May 24, 1921 in Pauillac Gironde, France, Andre was the son of Charles and Jeanette Raffaux Fish.  He married Anna Leta Rueb on August 25, 1942 in Seattle, Washington. She preceded him in death on October 7, 1991. He spent his later years with his longtime companion, Betty Voyles, who preceded him in death on October 15, 2014.

   Mr. Fish served his country in the U. S. Navy during WW II.  He was stationed aboard the USS Nevada when it was attacked at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.

   An avid hunter and fisherman, Andre also loved the outdoors, working in his yard and garden and tinkering in his garage.

   Andre had worked at International Harvester and owned and operated Fish Garage in Barry, IL. He later was employed as a machine operator at Gardner Denver for many years until his retirement.

   Survivors include four sons, Larry Fish of Mexico, MO, Dennis Fish (Vickie) of Quincy,  Farrell Fish (Lisa) of Baylis, IL and Glen Allen Fish (Patricia) of Payson, IL; two daughters, Anita Troxell of Baylis, IL and Audrey Marie Gully (Jerry) of Barry, IL; three step children, Diane Voyles (Anthony Grawe) of Barry, IL, Debra Cheney (Tom) of Quincy and Roy E. Voyles, Jr. (Ann) of Quincy; many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; a brother, Edward Fish of Pueblo, CO; and several nieces and nephews.

   Mr. Fish was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Anna; his longtime companion, Betty;  a daughter, Joyce Ann Fish; two sons, Danny Fish and Gary Duane Fish; a daughter in law, Charlotte Fish; a son in law, Ronnie Troxell; and a sister in law, Shirley Fish.

   Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Pastor Gary Dice.  Burial with Military Honors by Quincy American Legion Post 37 and the U.S. Navy Funeral Honors Detail will be in Quincy Memorial Park.

   Visitation will be Monday morning from 10:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to the Illinois Veterans Home Activity Fund.
