MARJORIE ANN PEELER


Marjorie Ann Peeler, 85, of Libertyville, Illinois, formerly of Quincy and Springfield, died at 11:15 a.m.  Monday (December 22, 2014) at the Winchester House in Libertyville, Illinois.

Born December 23, 1928 in Quincy, Marjorie was the daughter of Clarence and Clara Kaiser Featheringill. She married David Estil Peeler on March 23, 1957 at First Christian Church in Quincy.  He preceded her in death on August 25, 2003.

A member of First Christian Church in Quincy and later in Springfield, Marjorie was active with Christian Women's Fellowship and taught Sunday school. She was also a member of the Civic Garden Club and the Order of the Eastern Star.  Marjorie had a heart for helping others and volunteered her time with Meals on Wheels and as a Grandma's Helper at Carl Sandburg Elementary School in Springfield.

A graduate of Quincy High School and Gem City Business College, Marjorie worked with her husband, Estil in their business, Peeler Accounting and Tax Service in Springfield.  Marjorie was also a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and attending their various music, school, and sports activities.

Survivors include two daughters, Ann Fern of Grayslake, IL and Elizabeth Gorsich (Tom) of New Berlin, IL; a son, David Peeler (Amanda) of Springfield, IL; six grandchildren, Christina Moreno (Juan), Brandon Fern, Abigail Gorsich, Nicholas Gorsich, D. J. Peeler, and Zachary Peeler; three great grandchildren, Erick Zenteno, Maria Zenteno, and Bella Zenteno; and many loving nieces and nephews.
  
Mrs. Peeler was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; twin great grandchildren, Alex Moreno and Christian Moreno; a brother, Phil Featheringill; and four sisters, Helen Featheringill, Louise McCollum, Virginia Hotchkiss, and Bess Delk.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning from 10:00 until 11:00 at the funeral home.
