MILDRED C. WHEELOCK

   Mildred C. Wheelock, 100, formerly of Quincy, died at 10:46 a.m. Thursday (January 1, 2015) at Heritage Manor in Carlinville, Illinois.

   Born June 27, 1914 in Kellerville, IL, Mildred was the daughter of Rolla "Rollie" and Ada Mayfield Kerley.  She married J. Dexter Wheelock in Carthage, IL on November 27, 1933.  He preceded her in death on July 26, 1990.

   Mildred was a devoted mother and wonderful homemaker who loved to spend time with her grandchildren.  She enjoyed collecting dolls and made clothing for them.

   Survivors include her daughter Rolla K. Wike of Quincy; two sons Lyle Wheelock (Carolyn) of Quincy and Ron Wheelock and his companion Mary Buffington of Carlinville, IL; eight granchildren Scott Wheelock (Kim) of Liberty, IL, Amy McVey (Greg) of Quincy, Tisha Winking (Chad) of Quincy, Darin Wike (Erin) of Austin, TX, Kent Wheelock (Katrina) of Laquey, MO, Tiffany Wilson (Georgetown, KY), Tony Wheelock (Misty) of Arnold, MO and Tracey Wheelock of Eolia, MO.  Also surviving are sixteen great grandchildren Hannah Wheelock, Levi Wheelock, Elijah Wheelock, Seth Wheelock, Anna Wheelock, Taylor Wheelock, Carter Wheelock, Madison Wheelock, Shelby Wheelock, Nathan Wheelock, Dustin Wheelock, Skylar Winking, Reese Winking, Justin Anderson, Dalton Anderson and Sophie McVey; five great great grandchildren and one sister Rolene Bailey of Macomb, IL.

   Mrs. Wheelock was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one grandson Bryan Wike, a son in law Robert L. Wike, a brother Otis L. Kerley, two sisters Marjorie Tucker and Helen Mayfield.

  Funeral services will be held Monday 1:00 p.m. in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Disseler officiating.  Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

   Visitation will be held Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to the Blessing Cancer Center.
