   Cathryn Kirgan, 94, of rural Liberty, Illinois, died at 2:28 a.m. Friday (January 9, 2015) in the home of her son in Liberty, Illinois.

   Born October 3, 1920 in Brown County, Illinois, Cathryn was the daughter of Samuel and Minnie Petries Hosford. She married Robert H. Kirgan on May 25, 1944 in Virginia, Illinois. He preceded her in death on July 21, 2014.

   Cathryn was a member of Brethren Church of Fishhook and the Adams County Farm Bureau. She enjoyed working in her garden. Cathryn devoted her life to raising her family and cherished the time she spent with them, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
   Survivors include her son, Robert H. "Joe" Kirgan (Janice) of Liberty; three daughters, Sue Bancroft of Auburn, IL, Betty Nall (Denton) of Lewistown, MO and Barb Scranton (Burt) of  Sierra Vista, AZ; thirteen grandchildren, Rachel Little (Kevin), Jennifer Schutte (Kevin), Katie Bloom (Shawn), Nathan Kirgan , Sarah Barth (Jon), Stephanie Bancroft, Kenneth Mowen (Rhonda), Bruce Mowen (Robin), Darrell Mowen (Jennifer), Sherry Macomber (Dan), Angie Mundell (Ron), Mike Scranton and Kevin Scranton (Crystal); and many loving great grandchildren; a great great grandchild; nieces and nephews.

   Mrs. Kirgan was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter in infancy, Kay Ann Kirgan; a grandson, Christopher Bancroft; a great grandson, Ryan Macomber; two sons in law, Ed Bancroft and Dale Mowen; a brother, Hugh Hosford; and two sisters, Faye Drake and Emma Lou Moore.

   Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Pastor Steve Disseler.  Burial will be in the Cooperstown Cemetery.

   Visitation will be Tuesday morning from 10:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
